Our Story

Colombian Roots. Nicaraguan Craftsmanship. A Legacy in Every Cigar.

Twenty years ago, Luis Cuao began building a cigar brand that would carry more than his name. It would reflect his roots, his journey as an entrepreneur, and his belief that the best moments in life are shared.

Born in Riohacha, La Guajira, Colombia, Luis has called the United States home since 1996. Over the past three decades, he has built a life grounded in family, hard work, and the determination to turn ideas into reality. LC Cigars became a personal expression of that journey, bringing together his Colombian heritage, his life in America, and his passion for fine cigars.

For Luis, understanding a business means understanding the people and processes behind it. That philosophy shapes our approach to cigars: respect for the tobacco, appreciation for the hands that craft each cigar, and attention to the experience we offer.

Handcrafted in Nicaragua, our cigars draw on the distinct tobacco traditions of Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa. Each blend brings its own character, connecting the craftsmanship of Nicaragua with the vision of a Colombian founder.

As our collection has grown, so has the story it tells. LC 1938 honors Luis’s father, while our 20th Anniversary celebrates two decades of building the brand. These cigars connect our work to the people and milestones that give it meaning.

But our story also belongs to the people who welcome us into their celebrations, conversations, and everyday moments. From a quiet evening to a gathering of friends, we believe a cigar can create space to slow down, listen, and connect.

Twenty years after the first idea, we continue with the same purpose: to craft cigars we are proud to share and build relationships that last.
